With great joy, Atelier Sukha founder Irene Mertens and Photographer Marieke Verdenius kindly invite you to join our 'A Table' workshop at Marieke's studio nestled in the heart of Amsterdam. Both Irene and Marieke share the love for capturing simple moments and embracing a slow, beautiful life. This workshop is a collaboration between the two, bringing together their talents.
This exclusive event on Friday March 22nd offers a unique opportunity to delve into the art of still-life (food) styling, explore the details of various materials and textures, and uncover the essentials of photography, whether it be with a professional camera or a mobile device.
Throughout this engaging workshop, both Irene and Marieke will personally demonstrate and provide hands-on guidance as you craft and capture your own stunning compositions, or collaborate with fellow participants to beautifully decorate a table. Halfway through the day we'll have a delicious vegetarian lunch with seasonal ingredients. After lunch, students can keep working on styling and photographing more food and still life setups, and they can also ask any questions they have. We’re looking forward to welcoming you and enjoy a day filled with creativity and inspiration!

Program:
We begin the day at the studio greeting everyone. We'll have coffee/tea and snacks while we tell you about the day's plans.
Demonstrations: You'll learn from both Irene and Marieke about setting up scenes including table top and (food) styling. We also take a look at the settings through the lens of our cameras and/or mobile phones, focussing on angles, daylight and compositions.
After the demonstrations we’ll enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch
After lunch participants are welcome to create and capture their own scenes with help from Irene and Marieke.

About Marieke Verdenius
Marieke Verdenius is a photographer from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her photography focuses on simple and beautiful moments in lifestyle, interiors, food, nature, and still life. She prefers using natural light to capture the essence of these everyday moments. Occasionally, Marieke collaborates with the team of atelier Atelier Sukha team for photography projects or at the concept store.
